Board of Trustees
Stortford Fields Community Management Trust has been registered with Companies House. It was awarded Charity Status in September 2025 under Charity Number 1214771.
The Trust will be run by a balanced multi-stakeholder board of 10 dedicated Trustees who will be fully accountable and transparent providing a strong mix of skills, attributes and experience. All Trustees will operate in the best interests of the Trust and will not offer advice to residents.
The Board will continue to build with recruitment of Residents, Voluntary/Community, Conservation, and Housing Association Trustees. The number of resident representatives grows over time per 350 homes occupied – with over 1,100 homes currently occupied, there are three resident positions filled. Ensuring the Board is not full at the outset means residents in later phases can join. As BSNC (The Consortium) complete their building work, they will depart from the Trust board. The two co-optee positions will be held by people who bring a specialist skill set to support the Board activities, e.g. Finance, HR.
Executive Team
Mark and Claire have been appointed to set up the Trust. Both have many years’ experience working with communities - setting up community trusts, community development and resident communications. They are on a short-term contract and their role will reduce as the Trust Board develops.

Meet our Community Development Worker - Elaine Shanahan
Elaine stepped into the role of Stortford Fields Community Development Worker in July 2024, having first supported the area as a volunteer at the inaugural community event. Since then, she has brought an impressive range of activities to life for residents of all ages. Her events have included Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween Trails, a Networking Evening, Walking Groups, Keep Fit Classes, Christmas Parties, a Santa Fun Run, Teddy Bears’ Picnics, Stortford in Bloom, a Pre Loved Sale, and a weekly Baby Group. She has also built strong partnerships with Elm View Care Home and The Avanti Trust Schools. Community means a great deal to Elaine. After moving from West London without knowing anyone locally, she understands the importance of connection. “Since joining the Trust, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful residents from all walks of life. It brings me real joy to see neighbours becoming friends and our community bonds growing.” Elaine warmly welcomes ideas from residents about future events and activities they would like to see in Stortford Fields.
