Allotments and community garden
At Ash Grove exciting plans are being developed for a community garden, orchard and allotments. There will be allotments, a community orchard with fruit trees and a shared space for events and activities.

Hoggates Park and Woods
Hoggates Park, adjacent to Hoggates Wood will be home to a sports pavilion with changing facilities, kitchen, bar and space for community activities/clubs and a football pitch along with parking. Bishops Stortford based Swifts FC are in discussion for a long-term lease on the building and pitch.
SFCMT has appointed Academy Consulting as Project Manager to deliver the pavilion and pitch. A Section 73 planning application will be submitted end 2025.
Hoggates Wood offers acres of beautiful mature woodland for the community to enjoy. The transfer of land at Hoggates Park and Hoggates Wood to SFCMT to manage and protect is underway.
Foxdells Farm
Foxdells Farmhouse and Barn were designated in 1983 as Grade II listed buildings. There are three buildings on site to be considered for development. A condition survey has been undertaken and Heritage Strategy report by BSNC will be submitted to East Herts District Council.
Early research with the local community suggested some form of multi-space hall, for social and leisure facilities would be welcome along with a café/restaurant. Ideas are to be considered and progressed….. what do you think?… Let us know…..
Our schools
Stortford Fields has two brand new schools, one primary and one secondary school with new state of the art facilities.
Avanti Brook Primary School
Avanti Brook opened in September 2023. It offers up to 30 places for Reception, as well as 26 places for pre-school aged children each year.

Avanti Grange Secondary School
Avanti Grange Secondary School will provide 1,200 pupil places and serve the new Stortford Fields and St Michael’s Hurst communities. It welcomed its first cohort in September 2023. The new school is built across a 11.4-hectare site that straddles either side of the A120 road – with the school on one side and playing fields on the other.
